What can I ask?
Briefs
“Give me a competitor brief on Linear: what changed this week and what should we watch?”
“Compare Notion and Coda head to head on hiring and shipped features.”
Market
“Who are the new entrants in Vercel's category?”
“Which competitor is running the most Meta ads right now?”
Pricing and launches
“Did any of my competitors change pricing in the last month?”
“What did my competitors launch in the last two weeks?”
“What changed on Figma's website and changelog since last month?”
Voice of customer
“What are people on Reddit saying about Stripe this week?”
Workflows
- Monday competitor review. “What did my competitors launch or change this week? Group by competitor, highest severity first, with links.”
- Battlecard refresh. “Compare us with Copperleaf on pricing changes, launches and hiring this quarter, then update this battlecard.” (paste your battlecard)
- Launch planning. “Has any competitor shipped something similar to our upcoming feature in the last two months?”
- Board prep. “Summarize the competitive landscape in five bullets for our board deck, with sources.”
Tips
- Name the time window (“this week”, “since September”). Alertedly answers per ISO week, starting Monday.
- Ask for sources. Signals carry their source links.
- Ask for the full report (
detail: "full") only when you need it; briefs are faster to read. - Reddit, hiring, Meta ads and trademarks are Pro channels.
